What are your session fees?

My session fees are based on many factors: my experience, talent, equipment, and time, including preparation for the session, wardrobe consultations, location scouting, and post-production editing. I offer different packages and pricing depending on your selected session. Please visit my investment page for more information and contact me for a full pricing guide. Prices are subject to change and are valid within 14 days from initial quote.

How do I confirm my wedding date or portrait session?

Once you have selected a collection, we will prepare and send a photography quote and contract for your review. We ask that you complete the forms and submit payment within 7 days, which will secure your date. I require a non-refundable retainer, with final balances due two weeks prior to the wedding and one week prior to the portrait session date. I currently accept all major credit cards as well as checks (preferred).

Do you offer payment plans?

Photography is an investment and I respect everyone’s varying budgets and needs. I do offer payment plans, so please contact me for more information. All products and images will be delivered upon full receipt of payment.

Can I customize a wedding collection?

Absolutely. We are happy to tailor any collection to best suit your celebration. Please email us your wish list, and we will follow up with a custom quote for your review.

Is travel/accommodations included in your pricing?

Travel is not included. As each wedding is unique, we love to learn about your destination and celebration before we discuss travel plans. We then customize a quote based on the location and number of shooting days. The travel quote is added to your selected Wedding Collection or we handle all of our own travel arrangements unless otherwise arranged and specified.

If you are traveling to my wedding, when will you arrive?

We always plan to arrive at least the morning prior to the wedding (or first event we are shooting), and often several days prior for international events. This timeframe allows for any travel delays, and affords us time to get acclimated and to scout the wedding and shooting locations.

What is your appointment policy?

When you book your session, a non-refundable retainer is required at the time of booking. The remainder of the session fee is due a week before the appointment or based on the schedule of payment agreed upon. Due to the nature of a growing business, I have had to come up with a cancellation policy (see below). I do ask that when clients make their appointments they take into consideration that I reserve that day specifically for them, rendering that day unavailable for another possible client. Therefore, canceling results in a loss of business for me. Having said that, please choose the time and date very carefully.

At this time, Portrait Sessions, including – Engagement, Boudoir, Family, Maternity, Newborn, and Headshots are scheduled during weekdays ONLY. Weekends are reserved for weddings and events.

What if I need to cancel?

Once a session or wedding is booked, the retainer is non-refundable. I am very aware that life happens! If there is an emergency, please contact me as soon as possible, and we will reschedule your portrait session. However, please be very mindful as to what constitutes an emergency. If the session is canceled, the client has up to two weeks to reschedule their new date, or they risk losing their retainer.

What if the weather does not want to cooperate?

I keep an eye on the weather leading up to our scheduled portrait session. If Mother Nature has other plans, I will work with you to pick the next best available date and apply your deposit to this rescheduled session.

How long until I receive my photos?

After the session, the delivery of your photos can vary depending on my current workload and session type. Your final gallery for portrait sessions is typically available 2 weeks after the session. For weddings, you can expect to see your images within 6-8 weeks on your private online proofing gallery.

How many images will I receive?

I am a firm believer in quality over quantity.  Generally, I deliver between 60-80 images per hour of photography coverage, not including travel during your timeline. A typical portrait session will yield roughly 6o images, and an 8-hour wedding gallery will have approximately 500-700 images.

How long is my gallery available online?

Your online portrait gallery will be available for 2 months and wedding galleries are open for a period of 4 months after the final delivery. This allows my clients time to order prints, and save a copy of the digital files to their computers, external hard drives, etc. Please make sure to save the digital files, as I only retain copies of your images for up to a year. Once the gallery has been closed, there is a $50 fee to re-open the gallery.

Do you give the digital files, and who owns the copyright?

YES! Digital files are a part of my packages so that you can print and share any photos taken during our session. All photographs taken by Lauren Renee Designs are protected by United States Copyright Laws (USC Title 17). Once you receive the digital files via download, and a print release, you will have a shared copyright for personal use. You may make copies of the images, display the images, and share the images with family and friends. We kindly require that you give credit to Lauren Renee Designs (@laurenreneedesigns) when sharing images online or via social media. Please note: for display prints or larger wall prints we highly recommend ordering through your online gallery. These images are professionally printed, color corrected and checked by Lauren Renee to ensure the highest quality.

Can I print my photos?

Since I do provide the digital files from your session, you may print the photos wherever you would like for personal use only. I do offer printing services through my professional lab, and each image is printed on archival paper, with archival inks. If you do choose to print elsewhere, I am not responsible for print color errors and uncorrected cropping when ordered through any other lab than my own.

Do you have a second/associate photographer?

Yes! I shoot all of my weddings with a second photographer, and they are built into the packages that I offer. There is so much that happens on your wedding day, and I want to make sure not to miss a thing! Depending on the scale of the event, we bring additional shooters or assistants as needed.

Where are you located?

I am currently located in Pittsburgh, PA, and service the surrounding areas. However, I am also available for world-wide travel!

How far in advance should I book you for our wedding?

I recommend booking your wedding 6-12 months in advance. The summer season fills up quickly and I only take a certain amount of weddings each year in order to ensure my creativity and energy for each couple!

When should I schedule my maternity or newborn sessions?

If you are looking to schedule a maternity session, please book a date that will be during your third trimester. For newborn sessions, you must tentatively book the session for four days after your due date. Newborn photos should be taken within the first ten days of life. Once the baby is born, we will finalize an exact date and time for your session.

What should I wear?

Before your session, we will discuss wardrobe options. The theme, time, and location of the session will determine what outfits will be appropriate to wear. These photos will be hanging up on your walls for many years to come, so make sure to dress the part!

Do you have backup gear?

Of course! I use top Canon gear and film cameras, and I come with backups of everything to ensure that there is no interruption in your session or wedding day coverage!

What happens if LRD gets sick or has an emergency before the wedding?

Having an emergency come up immediately before a wedding is certainly an unpleasant thought and a circumstance we have yet to encounter (and hopefully never will!). Leading up to a wedding, we plan our lives carefully to ensure our health is in top form and that we have ample travel time. Should unforeseen circumstances prevent us from attending your wedding, we will do our best to arrange a replacement photographer of equivalent caliber and style, or simply return all monies and allow you to make your own arrangements if you so choose. We have a strong network of associations to aid in such an unlikely circumstance

Are you a registered business and do you have insurance?

Yes. I am a registered business in the state of Pennsylvania and all of my services are subject to additional PA Sales Tax of 7%. I have both liability and equipment insurance and can provide documentation on request.
